At 06:58 hours Saturday October 14th, 2006 the first alarm assignment was struck for a structure fire on Cudo Rd. in New Milford Twp. This placed United Engine 6 and Tanker 4 on the assignment. Communications advised on dispatch that the Barn was reported to be fully involved. United Engine 6 and Tanker 4 Responded with a total of 6 personnel at 07:00. As the engine and tanker were cresting the hill on SR 706 by the Penn-DOT shed they got a good view of the fire and smoke still almost 2 miles away

The Barn was a total loss and the State Police fire marshal was called in to determine a cause of the fire. It is believed that all the animals made it out of the barn safely and there were no injures reported.

Engine 6 was first to arrive to find a barn fully involved and was requested to drop its crew and return back to heart lake lake to set up a fill site for tankers while tanker 4 staged in a driveway up the road to allow room for other apparatus into the scene. Crews from New Milford and United stretched  lines from New Milford Engine3 to try to contain the fire.  Command  New Milford 14(D.MacConnell) made a special request for United Tower to the scene along with a request for second alarm tanker assignment. The Tower arrived and set the ladder up for master stream operations while the engine crew set up a water dump site for the tankers.
