Year Ends with a Working Fire assist to Springville 

Sunday January 31st, 2006 at 06:36 Susquehanna County Communications alerted Springville Fire Company along with United Tower and Engine, a Tanker from Meshoppen and Montrose EMS for the report of fire in the attic of a residence on se 3013 Springville Twp. Springville 11 (D.Birchard) arrived first and established command with communications with the report of a 2 story residential working fire. Springville Engine 1 was first in and stretched a line into the residence making there way to the attic. Command sent his second engine to a dry hydrant to fill tankers and request that the ladder and united engine come to the scene.

Command requested that when the engine arrived to back up the interior crews in the attic and to have the ladder set up to the roof. The interior crew had found the fire and knocked it down and were in the process of searching for extension. The ladder was assigned to put the fire out in the chimney witch was believed to be the origin of the fire. Command held the fire to the first alarm. There was minimal damage to the residence and no injuries reported. Command released all United units at 08:29.
