Monday January 1st,
2007 At 15:45 Susquehanna County Communications dispatched the
structure fire assignment for report of a fire in the attic on
the Dimock to Elk Lake Rd. Just Up from the Elk Lake Filling
station. This brought United Engine 6 and Tanker 4 on the
first alarm. The Engine and tanker responded with 6 personnel
with additional responding to the scene. On arrival there was
smoke coming from the eves. Command request that the engine
crew enter the building and back up the crew from elk lake operating
on division 2 and attic level. Crews found a slow smoldering
fire in the ceiling of division 2 and went to work opining up
and removing the burning material from the building. The fire
was placed under control quickly and there was minimal damage
to the building and no injuries reported. The residents were
staying with family until the home could be
repaired.
