Rescue Assignment to Springville

Once EMS made contact with the patient and evaluated it was decided to package the patient and remove them from rear hatch of the vehicle. Crews went to work opening the rear hatch and removing the back of the drivers seat with the "O" cutters. The Rescue Crew placed the patient on a back board and removed her from the vehicle. the extrication took about 20 minuets. The patient was transported by ground by Montrose EMS with moderate injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

Shortly after 16:00 hours January 18th, 2007 Communications dispatched the rescue assignment for a 2 car MVA on SR 29 in Springville Twp. United 11(P.Sprout) and Rescue 1 Responded with a total of 6 personnel. As the rescue responded Springville Engine 1 arrived on scene and gave the report of a SUV on its side with heavy entrapment. With that report United 11 requested an additional rescue to the scene and to have united tones sent of additional man power. United 11 arrived and was assigned to rescue operations. United 11 reported back to the rescue that he had a small SUV on its side with the driver confined. 11 requested the rescue deploy the air shores and cribbing to stabilize the vehicle and remove the windshield so EMS could make access to the patient.
