United Responds to a house Filling with Smoke

On Tuesday March 6th, 2007 at 19:45 Susquehanna County Communications dispatched United Fire Company along with Montrose EMS for the report of smoke filling a residence on Bush Road in Bridgewater Twp. United11 (P.Sprout) responded followed by the United Tower 3, Engine 2, and Tanker 4. United 11 was first to arrive and established command with the report of a heavy smoke condition on division 1 and light smoke in the basement possible furnace malfunction.   The Tower arrived and assigned to the interior and outside vent. The crew went inside and verified that it was a furnace malfunction while the outside vent set a PPV fan in the basement door way. The interior crew confirmed the source of the smoke to be a furnace malfunction and secured the furnace. The crew then went to division one and opened a few windows and the PPV fan was placed in service to ventilate the building. There were no injuries reported and minor smoke damage to the home. All United Unites were returned to service at 20:18.
