On Tuesday April 10th,
2007 the day got started early at 08:39 communications
dispatched United Fire and Montrose EMS for the report of the
personal injury accident on SR 167 north of Montrose.
Communications reported that the sole occupant was out of the
vehicle. United Engine 2 and United 13 responded. Montrose Micu4
was first to arrive confirming the report from dispatch with the
vehicle partially in the road. The Engine arrived and
established a traffic pattern while State police did the
investigation and the tow service removed the vehicle. Montrose
Mic4 transported the occupant from the vehicle. The second
run for the day came in at 16:50 for the report of a dryer fire
in a residence on Rafferty Rd in Bridgewater Twp.

crews made quick work of the fire that was
still contained to the appliance and began to open up to get the smoke
out of the house. The exterior crews controlled the gas and set up water
supply as well as placing a PPV fan in service. Crews
removed the unit from the house and cleaned up some of the mess.
No one was injured and there was moderate damage to the house
due to smoke. All units were returned to service by 17:48.

United 11 (P. Sprout) was first to arrive
with smoke showing from a 2 story residential structure. United tower 3,
Engine 2, Tanker 4, Engine 6, and Rescue 1 responded with several members.
Communications reported that the home owner was trying to use an
extinguisher on the fire. Prior to the apparatus arrival 2 members made
entry to the residence and found flames showing from a washer dryer
combination unit and used an additional extinguisher to keep the fire in
check. The crew was forced out by the smoke in the building. The Tower
arrived and 2 members placed a 1 3/4" line in-service to the first floor
and the officer grabbed the hook.
