Engine and Tanker Respond to Hop Bottom Fire

Command then held all tankers on the alarm and requested that United Engine 6 set up a fill site at Kozy Lake. The crews from Hop Bottom stretched an 1 3/4" line to control the fire. The fire was placed under control quickly and remained on scene for overhaul . Command declared the fire out and released united units at 21:36. There were several animals in the barn at the time of the fire that unfortunately did not make it out. The barn was a total loss.

On Wednesday April 11th, 2007at 19:49 United Fire Company was special requested to respond and engine and tanker  to assist Hop Bottom fire. Hop Bottom was responding to a report of a barn fire on SR 2013 in Brooklyn Twp. United Engine 6 responded with 4 members and Tanker 4 with 2. Additional personnel responded in POV. Hop Bottom 11 (P.Meca) established the SR 2013 command with a small barn fully involved on the ground and a small brush fire working as a result. Command requested that United slow their response and had Springville Engine return to service. Command had Hop Bottom Engine 1 take the front of the structure and Hop Bottom Engine 2 to pick up the line and supply engine 1.
