Shortly after 09:00 on Wednesday April 25th, 2007
United Fire Company along with Montrose EMS. was alerted for a 2 car crash
on SR 706 east near Donald Dean and Sons. Communications reported 1 person
still in a vehicle. United Rescue 1 and Engine 2 responded and arrived to
find 2 cars 1 one with heavy damage to the front end sitting in the middle
of the road leaking fluids. EMS was already on scene attending to the
occupant of the car. The crew from the rescue assisted EMS with the
removal of the driver of the car while the engine crew went to work
controlling hazards. Once EMS removed the patient from the scene
crews kept the road closed while PSP did the investigation and the
wreckers removed the vehicles from the road. Crews operated on scene for
just over an hour.
