Monday Brings Crash and Vehicle  Fire

On Monday July 9th, 2007 the day started off early. At 07:54 Susquehanna County dispatched United Fire along with Montrose EMS for a 2 to 3 car crash with injuries SR 29 Franklin Twp. in front of High Tech collision. As units started to respond they were advised that on person was possibly laying in the road.  United Engine 2 and Rescue 1 responded with a total of 6. United 17 was first to arrive finding 3 vehicles involved with every one out of the vehicles. The rescue arrived and assisted with patient care and controlled the hazards and the crew from the engine handled traffic. Crews remained on scene while State Police did the investigation and the tow service removed the vehicles.

The ambulance transported 2 indviduals with injuries to the hospital.  Later that afternoon at 13:34 United and Montrose EMS were dispatched for the report of a vehicle fire the rear of 1 Grow Ave. in the Boro. United Engine 2 and Tanker 4 responded with a total of 7 and arrived with in 4 minuets of dispatch. The engine Arrived to find a mini van in a parking space with exposures on either side with heavy smoke coming from the hood.  Crews forced the hood and deployed an 1 3/4" attack line placing the fire out within 5 minuets.  There were no injuries reported and all units were placed in service by 13:54.
