On Monday September 17th, 2007 Susquehanna County
Communications alerted United Fire Company to the report of a structure
fire on Melhuish Rd. in Bridgewater Twp. United 17 R. Coy was first to
arrive with the report of a fully involved barn fire endangering
near by electrical lines. United 11 (P. Sprout) then requested the next
due tanker from New Milford. United 11 requested the tower to pull past
the scene and had united engine stop at the drive and pull an 1" 3/4
line. the crew from the ladder went to work on overhaul. the tanker
supplied the engine with water. Command then put the remainder of the
apparatus in service. Crews operated for just under an hour. there were
no injuries reported and the structure was a total loss.
