On Thursday January 31st, 2008 around 23:00
Susquehanna County dispatched the 1st alarm assignment for the activated
fire alarm at the Summit Tea Room in New Milford Twp. This brought the
Tower out of United. United tower 3 responded with 3 personnel. New
Milford 11 (D. McConnell) arrived with nothing showing from the
exterior. The first arriving engine New Milford Engine 3 crew made entry
on the investigation finding a smell of smoke in the structure. Command
had the first arriving special service Hallstead Rescue deploy the
thermal imaging camera to do the search. As the tower arrived command
requested the crew deploy as the RIT team. As crews were deploying the
tower Communications was dispatching the MVC assignment for the 1 car
crash SR 11 New Milford Twp. 1 mile south of our present location.

United Rescue was due on the box.
The interior crew at the summit found the problem to be a furnace
malfunction. Summit command requested that Hallstead Rescue clear the
alarm and respond to the crash. command had United Rescue return to
service before they responded. The Tower crew was released shortly after
from the alarm. |
