Command also requested Rush
rescue be dispatched to assist. Engine 2 was first to arrive with United
13 (C.E. Daly) in Command finding 2 cars one with heavy front end damage
with the passenger still in the vehicle and the Other vehicle with
severe passenger side damage with the driver confined. The engine crew
removed the glass from the rear driver side window and manually opened
the lock providing access to the patient. Once the vehicle was
stabilized crews unlocked the drivers door and had to dig the dirt from
the embankment to fully open the door. Crews were then able to remove
the patient. While the first patient was being extricated the other 2
patients in the other vehicle were being packaged by EMS. A total of 3
victims were transported from the scene by ambulance. Crews remained on
scene controlling hazards and traffic while PSP handled the
investigation. We would like to thank Rush fire company for the
assistance with the incident. |
