At 10:45 hours on Friday February 15th, 2008
communications transmitted the MVA assignment for a 2 car crash with
injuries on Grow av. in front of Country Land Marks. Montrose EMS was on
scene with in minutes finding an occupant in the sedan with serious
injuries requesting rescue and the Medical Helicopter to respond. United
11 (P. Sprout) marked on scene and upon hearing the report from EMS
Requested United 13 (C.E. Daly) handle the command on the scene and
responded to set up the Landing Zone. United Rescue and Engine 2
Responded with 4 members. The rescue Marked on scene with united 13 to
find 2 cars in the road with a T-bone accident. EMS had gained Patient
access.

The Crew from the rescue went to work stabilizing
the sedan and assisted EMS with rapidly removing the patient out the
drivers side of the vehicle. The Patient from the sedan was transported by
EMS to the landing zone. As the ambulance was arriving at the LZ the
helicopter had to abort due to the snow that had started falling. The
patient was then transported by ground. Crews remained on scene while
police finished the investigation and the tow service removed the vehicle.
No other injuries were reported and crews were in service in just under
and hour.
