On Monday March 17th, 2008 around 19:00
the box was struck by Susquehanna County for a chimney fire on
Main St. in Hop Bottom. This brought an engine and the Tower out
of United. United Engine 2 and the Tower responded with a total
of 9 firefighters. While responding Hop Bottom Command (P.
Mecca) requested that the Tower position in the drive way and
put the tower to the chimney. The tower crew operated from the
top while other crews were busy in the basement taking care of
the problems with the furnace. Crews operated on the scene for a
little over an hour before being released by command. There was
minor damage reported to the residence and no injuries reported.
