Storms Bring Smoke Detector Activation




On Sunday July 27. 2008 just before 5:30 a.m. Communications alerted United Fire Company for the report of a smoke detector going off inside a residence, on SR 29 in South Montrose. United 12 (M.Hinds) and 13 (C.E. Daly) both went responding to the scene.  United Tower and Engine 2 responded with crew of 2 on each. United 12 and 13 arrived at the same time finding a large 2 story wood frame duplex with nothing showing. United 12 took the command and 13 was assigned operations. The tower arrived and was positioned at the "BC" corner of the residence. The operations sector was reporting no smoke in the residence. Crews did not find any fire in the residence and command returned all Units to service within 10 minutes of arrival to the scene.
