Working Church fire


On the evening of Wednesday October 22nd, 2008 while United Units were picking up from a AFA on Wilson ST in the boro communications were dispatching the 1st alarm for a Structure Fire in Snake Creeks first Due. Communications reported a working fire the United Methodist Church on the Silver Creek rd. United rescue Engine and tanker were due on the alarm. The first officer on scene confirmed the working fire with the kitchen of the large church structure well off. Command requested a second engine and the tower out of united. Crews mounted an aggressive interior attack while Engine 2 and 6 laid a supply line to a near by creek. Interior crews were able to contain the fire to the area of origin. Crews remained on scene for about 3 hours mopping up and looking for hot spots. PSP is investigating the cause of the fire. There is extensive damage to the area of the fire and some smoake damage through the rest of the building. There were no injuries reported. We would like to thank the crew from springville for standing by in our station while we assisted Snake Creek.
