On the afternoon on Tuesday
March 24, 2009 crews were back at station cleaning up from the last two
fire when the phone rang for the report of a Brush and Barn fire on
Phillips Rd in Bridgewater Twp. Crews were pulling out of station when
the comm center dispatched for the same fire. United tower, tanker
engine 2 and Engine 6 would respond. United 11 would also request the
next two tankers to the scene bringing Rust and Forest lake. United 11
would arrive to find a small brush fire with an out building fully
involved and fire extending to 3 other outbuildings and a track loader.
The tower would lay in from the bottom of the driveway and deploy two
attack lines. Engine 6 backed up the road and prepared to lay down the
hill to the creek. The tanker arrived and supplied the tower. Crews
stopped the fire quickly with minimal damage to the 3 exposure buildings
and the loader. Crews operated for about 45 min's overhauling and
checking for hot spots. there were no injuries reported.
