ust after 12:30 on Thursday
April 16th, 2009 united was dispatched for a brush truck and manpower to
assist Silver lake Fire on a Large brush fire in progress. United brush
was just being put back in service from repairs so crews quickly
finished the work and responded to assist. United would operate on the
scene of the fire for just over 4 hours along with several departments
from Susquehanna County and Broome County NY as well as forestry. In all
over 50 acres were burnt as well as a small shed. there were no injuries
reported. While the brush truck was in silver lake the Tanker would be
dispatched to a brush Fire to assist Hop bottom but be canceled while
responding. Just as the brush truck was getting back to the station
united fire was alerted for a brush fire on Ellsworth Dr. in Bridgewater
twp. The brush truck Engine 6 and the Tanker would respond finding a
small brush fire which was quickly extinguished.
