3 More Brush Fires Saturday




Saturday Started out around 11:00 with the report of a brush fire endangering a structure on bank st. burning towards a residence on Jessup st. Montrose boro. United 14 (P.Johnson) would mark on the scene with small brush fire confirming dispatch. United engine 6 and Brush would respond and quickly contain the fire before it could spread. Units operated on this scene for about 20 min's. There were no injuries reported. The next request came in just after 15:00 for and engine assist to Springville on Troy Rd. in Dimock Twp. for a brush fire with farm machinery involved. Engine 6 would respond with a crew of 5 with additional reporting to the scene. united would be assigned to handle the corn chopper fire while Springville handled the resulting brush fire. the farmer had pull the chopper out of the feild and removed the tractor. Engine 6 quickly handled the fire with a 1 3/4" line. There were no injuries reported. After returning and clearing up from the Dimock fire United fire would be alerted for the brush fire on turrell St. in the boro endangering the Beverage. United 14 would once again establish the command with a small fire burning toward a commercial structure. United brush, engine 6 and tanker would respond and the fire would be quickly contained. Crews remained for about 30 min's mopping up. No injuries were reported.
