On the morning of Monday May 18th, 2009 at 05:25 hours United fire and Montrose E.M.S. were alerted for a 1 vehicle roll over 2 miles north of town on SR 29, with the occupant out of the vehicle. United 11 would respond and while responding would be notified by two members on scene the the sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle with serious injuries. Members on scene would request the air medical to respond. United rescue 1 and Engine 2 would respond to the scene. United 11 would arrive and establish the 29 north command requesting Fire Police to close the road and snake creek be dispatched to help with traffic. The crew from the rescue would initiate patient care while waiting for E.M.S. to arrive the engine would be directed to the high school to handle the L.Z. Once the patient was removed crews remained on scene while PSP did the investiagation and the tow service removed the vehicle. Crews returned to service around 07:00.
