At 15:20 on Wednesday July 29th, 2009 United fire was dispatched for the
reported structure fire on RT 29 on Lake Montrose. United 11 (P. Sprout)
was the first officer to arrive with a smoke condition in the basement
and heat in the floor on division 1. United Engine 2, Engine 6, Rescue 1
and the utility would respond. crews made entry into a basement crawl
space to find a small electrical fire that had damaged a propane gas
line. Exterior crews controlled the electrical and gas to the residence.
crews were quickly able to control the fire. Units remained on scene
overhauling and metering the house for any hidden pockets of gas. Crews
operated on the scene for an hour with command being terminated at
16:30. There were no injuries reported and there was only minor damage
reported to the residence. The home owner was advised to contact
qualified servicemen to make repairs.
