On the morning of Wednesday September 2nd, 2009 around 08:15 United Fire
was alerted for a 2 vehicle crash on SR 29 in South Montrose. United 13
(C.E. Daly) checked responding and was advised that there was also a
second crash 1/2 mile south if this one that had been given to State
Police. United 13 arrived on scene to find a pick-up truck and a sedan
head on with all occupants out of the vehicle. United Rescue, Engine,
and utility responded. crews handled the traffic and controled hazards
while waiting for the police to arrive to investigate. E.M.S.
transported 1 patient from the scene. United 39 (M.Wood) stopped at the
other crash and advised of a broken pole with no traffic hazards and
relayed the information to the communications center to get the utility
company on the way. all Units returned to service by 09:30.
