Crews were woken early on thanksgiving for the rescue assist to
Springville on SR 3013 in Springville Twp. for a vehicle into a house.
Shortly after dispatch crews were updated that the occupant was
reportedly still in the vehicle. Springville 11 (D. Smales) arrived to
find a pickup truck against the wall of a residential structure with the
driver of the truck confined. An assessment of the structure reveled
damage but not believed to be structural. Springville crews
arrived and set up box cribbing and deployed their new Hurst
maverick tool. United crews arrived and assisted Springville to remove
the drivers door and had to displace the drivers seat to extricate the
victim. Crews assisted with packaging of the patient and handed
off the victim to E.M.S. The only injury was to the sole occupant of the
truck. United crews were released shortly afterwards.
