At 15:57 on Saturday January 30th, 2009 United Fire was alerted for an
Engine and Tower to assist Springville fire on a chimney fire on the
Dimock to Brooklyn Rd in Dimock twp. United 13 (C.E. Daly) was first to
arrive with nothing showing. Springville engine 1 and tanker arrived on
scene and laddered the roof and set up the chimney snuffer. United tower
arrived with a crew of 5 and went to work assisting cleaning out the
fire box as well as ventilating the structure. United engine 6 was
staged at the Dimock twp. building. Crews found a blocked stove pipe and
removed the blockage. Crews also checked for extension to the wall area
around the pipe. Crews then cleaned the chimney. with no extension found
United units were released around 15:00.
