Early Morning Fire
At 01:46 on April 16th, 2010 Susquehanna County was transmitting the first alarm assignment for a chair on fire in a residence on Sr 29 in Franklin Twp. Snake Creek's first due. United was requested for an engine, tanker and rescue. Communications updated that the caller was blind and they lost the call. Snake Creek 13 arrived to find a 2 1/2 story farm house with smoke showing from the a and b sides first floor. 13 also found the resident outside the building reporting no one else was inside.  United engine 6 responded with a crew of 4 and the tanker followed with 2. Snake Creek engine 3 arrived and stretched a 1 3/4 hand line. Snake creeks tanker arrived and tied into the engine. United Engine 6 arrived and split up one crew going inside to assist the snake creek crews and the other handling the outside vent responsibilities. Interior crews were meet with 2 rooms well involved and starting to the extend to division 2. The interior crew called for a second line and made access to the second floor to get ahead of the fire. Crews got a quick knock on the fire and then remained on scene to handled the over haul. Crews were back in service by 03:19. There were no injuries reported and the building received moderate damage in the fire.
