On Tuesday May 18th, 2010 at 18:30 Communications dispatched the first
alarm assignment for a possible structure fire on Fair Hill Rd. In
forest lake Twp. This brought United engine and tanker on the alarm.
United engine was responding with in 2 minuets of the alarm with a crew
of 5 followed by the tanker with 2. Communications reported that the
caller was unsure if this was a garage fire or just a vehicle fire.
United 13 (C.E. Daly) was first to arrive reporting that it was a 25' X
25' detached garage already on the ground, establishing the fair hill
command. United Engine 6 was first to arrive and command had them lay a
3" up the drive way off the road and and had united tanker tie in to
feed the engine. Crews stretched 2 1 3/4" hand lines and quickly knocked
down the remaining fire. Crews operated for about an hour overhauling
the fire. All units were back in service around 20:00. Their were no
injuries reported and the building and two vehicles were a total loss.
