RIT Assignment to Hop Bottom
Around 03:00 on Saturday January 8th, 2011 United Fire was alerted to Assist Hop Bottom with the rescue for RIT for a structure fire on Marcy Hill Road in Lenox Twp. As the Crew was assembling at station the first Unit arrived reporting a fully involved structure and detached garage fully involved as well as vehicles in the driveway on fire. United Rescue responded with a crew of 5. As the rescue was approaching the scene command advised that they were operating defensively with most of the fire buildings already on the ground. United rescue arrived and staged for RIT on the AB corner of the buildings. Crews did a 360 to identify and control hazards. once the 360 was completed the crew split with 2 staging at the CD corner and the other at the AB. crews stood fast while the fire was controlled. RIT Services were not activated during the operation and the Crew was released around 06:00.  there were no injuries reported and the Home and the garage were a total loss.
