Friday December 2nd 2011 started early at 07:35 communications alerted
United Fire for incidents at the same time the first being a 1 vehicle
crash on State Route 706 near Olin Road the other an assist to EMS for a
landing zone at the Montrose High School for a burn victim. United 13
marked responding to the MVA as a unit from Springville was on scene of
the crash reporting entrapment. United Rescue would respond to the
crash with a crew of three. Command would then request New Milford for
an engine to assist with the LZ. United 13 arrived and established the
706 west command with a pick up on it's side off the road with 1
confined. The rescue would arrive and begin stabilization efforts with
the air shores and box cribbing. United engine would crew and was sent
to handle the LZ at the school. The crew from the rescue would remove
the victim via the rear window and turned over to EMS. While units were
still operating on the crash and the LZ at 08:25 Communications
transmitted the Motor vehicle crash assignment for a 1 vehicle roll over
with trees down in the road. United 12 would respond the rescue and
United 13 would clear the pervious crash laving fire police on
scene the engine would also clear the LZ leaving New Milford Engine to
handle the LZ. United 12 and engine 2 would arrive on scene with a
pickup truck on its side in the middle of the road with 2 small trees
down in the road. the occupant was out of the vehicle. command held the
engine for traffic control and fluid clean up. the rescue returned to
the 706 crash to assist with removal of the vehicle. All
units were back in service around 09:30. At 11:58 United fire
would again be alerted for the 1 vehicle into the pole on grow ave. in
the boro. United 13 responded to scene. EMS arrived to find 1 vehicle on
a bank with one injury and one confined also a second vehicle involved
in another parking lot. The rescue would respond and stabilize and
remove the passenger side door to free the victim. all units were back
in service around 12:30. United would again be alerted around 19:00 for
traffic control for a vehicle in a ditch on 706 near price chopper.
United 14 would arrive canceling all units with the vehicle out of the
ditch.
