On
Thursday May 4th 2006 The Susquehanna County Communication
center alerted United fire company along with Montrose EMS for a 1 car MVA
in the drive way to the Montrose area Jr Sr high school. This
was an exercise put on by S.A.D.D. for the upcoming prom. Communications
advised on dispatch that there are several patients in the vehicle and
that there was entrapment. United Rescue1 with a crew
of 5 and United Engine 2 with a crew of 4-responded emergent from a
staging area.

Crews
took 19 minutes to extricate the 4 victims. The driver was turned over to
State Police and placed in custody for suspicion of DUI and lead from the
scene in had cuffs one pt was transported by ground and a second was
transported by air. The 4th victim was pronounced
on scene and taken by the county corner. After the
demonstration was complete the on lookers were lead into the high school
auditorium to attend the funeral of the deceased complete with the victim
being placed in a casket in the front of the audience. Agency
involved in the exercise included United Fire Company, Montrose EMS, State
Police Gibson, Stat Med Evac, Susquehanna County Coroner, and Susquehanna
County EMA.

United
engine 6 with a crew 4 responded shortly there after. The
Rescue and Engine marked on scene of a one vehicle accident into a pole
with 4 patients in the car with entrapment. United 12 (M.Hinds)
took the command requesting an air medical unit respond along with the
county coroner. Command assigned the rescue the pin job
and Engine 2 to control hazards as well as pull a safety line. Engine 2
crew was assisted by Jr. firefighters that attend the school. Engine
6 was assigned the LZ.
