participates in a drill at the hospital |

On Saturday October 16th, 2010 United Fire company participated
in an evacuation drill held at the Endless mountains health
Systems facility in Montrose. The drill simulated a chemical
release inside the building and the patients and staff needed to
be evacuated. Crews assisted with removing the patients from the
hospital to waiting ambulances to be transported to a temporary
hospital. (Photos) |

Assists Clifford with a working fire |

On the afternoon of Sunday October 10th, 2010 United fire was
alerted to respond it's Tower for a working Barn fire on SR 2065
Lenox twp Clifford's 1st Due. United tower responded promptly
with a crew of 5. Once on scene command positioned the tower for
master stream operations. Crew operated on scene for several
hours before being released.

| Tuesday
night training |

On Tuesday October 5th, 2010 United fire was given a unique
opportunity to train in a building slated for demolition. Crews
form New Milford joined the united crews that got excellent
hands on training in ground ladders, aerial Operations and well
as salvage and over haul. We thank the building owner for
providing us with the training opportunity and we hope to be
back and do some more before the building is gone.

| 1st Due Structure in Fairdale. |
At 07:45 on Tuesday September 28th, 2010 United fire was alerted
for a structure fire in an apartment building on SR 706 in
Fairdale. Communications reporting smell of electrical burning
inside the building. United 15 (M. Rosin) was first to arrive
with nothing evident from the exterior. The tower arrived and
the crew controlled the electrical to the apartment and searched
for the cause. it was fund that a mouse had chewed through a
wire going through a wall. Crews opened up the area and found no
extension. All unites returned to service with out further
incident. (More)

1st Due
Working Structure |

At 11:06 on Tuesday September 22nd, 2010 United fire was alerted
for a structure fire Shady Lane Park Bridgewater twp. United
Tower Engine 2 Tanker, and Engine 6 would respond all with light
staffing. United 14 (P. Johnson) requested the next due engine and
tanker also be dispatched. The tower arrived to find a well
involved house trailer with fire venting from the roof and out
of the front of the structure and the siding was beginning to
melt on the closest exposure structure. United 14 established
the shady lane command. Crews deployed a 2 1/2" line off
the tower and got a quick knock on the fast moving fire. crews
remained on scene for about 2 hours overhauling the structure.
