United Responds to fully involved Vehicle Fire
On Tuesday July 18th 2006 at 08:43 hours Susquehanna County Communications dispatched United Fire Company along with Montrose EMS to a reported vehicle fire at Tiffany Corners (intersection of SR 706 and SR 167 east of Town). United Engine 2 responded within 5 minutes with a crew of 5 followed by the Tanker with a crew of 2.  Montrose 22 (A.Vaccaro) arrived on scene first giving the report of a fully involved vehicle fire in the west bound lane.  Engine 2 arrived on location at 08:52 and stretched an 1 3/4 " preconnect.  United 12 (M.Hinds) took the command confirming Montrose 22's report.  The Crew made quick work of the fire placing it under control at 09:05.  Command requested that the cable company be notified due to fire being directly under their wire.  Command held the Engine for about an hour to maintain traffic control.  All units were placed in service at 09:47.
